Dyslexia Education & Belonging | Rachel Barwell

In 2023, Rachel Barwell contributed Dyslexia Education as an Access to a World of Belonging to the Journal of the 2023 Conference for Global Transformation, Creating a World of Belonging.

Drawing on her own experiences with neurodiversity, her career in adult education and her work as a licensed Davis Dyslexia Facilitator, Rachel explores how dyslexia and related neurodiversities can impact education, career opportunities, relationships and a person's sense of belonging.

Through her own journey and experiences working with neurodiverse learners, Rachel considers what becomes possible when people are given approaches that recognise how they think and learn — and asks how effective dyslexia education might become more widely available to those who need it.
